My author is “Judy
Blume”. She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on February 12, 1958. She has had
her books translated into thirty one different languages. Family and a career
as an author is what Judy Blume found significant. She started writing books when her to children
started preschool in New Jersey, when she started she couldn’t stop, therefor,
she has been writing ever since. She married a man by the name of George Cooper
who is an author of nonfiction. They now live in New York City.
Ms. Blume wrote the
book titled “Forever” because her daughter Randy asked for a story about two
nice kids who have sex with either one of them not having to die. The book was
published in 1975. There are many lessons in this book such as sex is not just
sex and it can have many consequences such as young pregnancy and more. This book
gives parents the chance to talk to their children about their own option of
sex, birth control, teen pregnancy, drugs and more. Many of the books Judy
Blume has written are challenged but have never been banned. Books such as “Iggie’s
House”, “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret”, “It’s Not the End of the World,
Just As Long As We’re Together”, “Blubber”, Deenie; Then Again, Maybe I Won’t”,
and “Forever”. Judy Blume writes about things that other authors are to scared
to themselves which causes many people to have concerns, therefor, most of her
novels are challenged.
